to fill a short "remainder term" vacancy left by the resignation of James "Duff" Ficklin, who resigned due to an extended journey.
Another familiar face will be returning to the Board as Julia Minton is seated for a three-year term, also on August 24. Minton was one of two people nominated for Members' Representative, but was the only one with a current membership on record. Current membership is required, according to the KMUD by-laws, to be eligible for board appointment or candidacy. Julia Minton, owner of "Appropriate Computer Solutions" and Online Marketing Coordinator & Youth Alive! Liaison with the Mateel Community Center, previously served on the KMUD Board from August, 2010 until August, 2011, filling a one-year vacancy.
The terms of two currently seated Board members, President Rob Bier and Treasurer Jama Chaplin, will expire on August 24. The Board will then elect one person on August 24 to fill out its full complement of nine members. Candidates for this Board position must be KMUD members, and must be nominated by August 21. Nominations may be made in person at the Board meeting on July 24 or by e-mail to boardelections --at-- kmud --dot-- org
