East Side Fire- east of Willits -now controlled

According to information received by KMUD News from Cal Fire - Mendocino Unit, dated August 16, 2011:
A fire, officially called the "East Fire", started Monday August 15, 2011 at 3:38 pm along the East Side Road east of Willits.  The fire started in the grass but quickly burned into the trees threatening structures.  With combined efforts of Cal Fire, CDCR, Little Lake, Ukiah Valley, Brooktrails, Laytonville, Redwood Valley & Hopland Fire Departments the fire was held to 10 acres and controlled by 8:00pm on 08/15/2011.

Today (Tues. August 16) 1 crew & 2 engines will be mopping up & patrolling the area.
