Local woman missing public assistance requested

On Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, around noon, Sheriff's Deputies found the body of missing local women, Jamie Ritchey, on the bank of the Eel River between Garberville and Redway. After an extensive search, Humboldt County Sheriff Sgt. Wayne Hanson and another detective located Ritchey's body in some brush at the base of a bluff near the intersection of Redwood Drive and Evergreen Drive. The Humboldt County Coroner's Office identified the body and notified the next of kin.  An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.

According to information received by KMUD News:
Jaymie Ritchey has been missing since Wed., Oct. 19th, 2011.  She was last seen on Redwood Drive hitch-hiking to Garberville around midnight or 1 am.  Jaymie previously worked at Redway Liquor, but not for the last couple of years. 
Jaymie is described as a 40 year old female with red, shoulder length hair and green eyes/5'3" tall and 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a beige shirt and jeans. The public is being requested by family and friends to help locate Jaymie. Click here for the KMUD News broadcast of this story.
Information received by KMUD News indicates that a reward fund has been set up for information that leads to locating Jaymie Ritchey.  Supporters can donate to the account at the Community Credit Union of Southern Humboldt in Garberville- account number 7431- extension 51.
