According to a Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, dated June 19, 2012:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for High Risk Missing Person Katherine Gillham. A detective has been assigned to the investigation and has learned Gillham was in the Elk Valley Casino, Crescent City on 06-11-2012, from 2:30 to 2:56 a.m. per the Casino Staff who located a video of her after a missing person flier was dropped off by her family members. Family members also viewed the video footage of Gillham and confirmed it was her. The California Highway Patrol has flown the route Gillham most likely took in California two different times and did not locate her or her vehicle. Humboldt County Search and Rescue deputies drove to the county line over the last two days and checked on and off the roadway for her, and her vehicle with no success. Del Norte County Search and Rescue is doing the same. Anyone with information is requested to call the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office at 707-445-7251.
On 06-14-2012, approximately 10:00 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office was notified of a possible missing person-overdue motorist, Katherine Gillham. The missing person left Grants Pass, Oregon on 06-11-2012, approximately 2:00 a.m. and failed to make it home. Family members assumed she had made it home to Big Lagoon, however due to a communication breakdown, did not realize she was missing until 06-14-2012, when they reported her missing. She was driving a Grey 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV, California 6UXE841. She is believed to have traveled State Route 199 from Grants Pass, Oregon to U.S. 101 to Big Lagoon, Humboldt County.

The Eureka Police Department is pleased to inform the public that on March 1st Mercer was located safe.
According to a press release from the Eureka Police Department, dated Feb. 22, 2012:
The Eureka Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating a reported missing man named Matthew Mercer. Mercer is a white male, 30 years old, 6'00", 190 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Mercer has been known to frequent the Old Town area and was last seen approximately three to four months ago riding his bicycle. If you have any information regarding Matthew Mercer please contact PSO Mary Anderson at (707) 441-4300 or dispatch at (707) 441-4044.

Esther Harris (aka: Cunningham / Street name: Miss Jo) has not be located as of this date and we are still seeking information on her from the public. Joe Byers was contacted but did not have information regarding her location.
According to a press release from the Eureka Police Department, dated Feb. 21, 2012:
The Eureka Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a 50 year old woman named Esther Harris. Esther was reported missing by her father in January. Esther has also used the last name of Cunningham and has a street name of "Miss Jo". Esther is about 5'06", 105 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. Esther was last seen in the Arcata area in November of 2011 with a man named Joe Byers.
If anyone has information on Esther Harris or how to contact Joe Byers they are urged to contact PSO Mary Anderson at (707) 441-4300 or dispatch at (707) 441-4044.

According to a press release from the Trinity County Sheriff's Office, dated Jan.11, 2012:
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office is looking for John Robert Powell of Mad River for questioning regarding the shooting on January 9, 2012 involving his stepfather Jonathon William Powell. John R. Powell may be armed and is considered dangerous. Anyone knowing his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to call your local Police or Sheriff’s Department right away or to call Trinity County Sheriff’s Office at 530-623-2611.
John R. Powell was arrested on January 6, 2012 by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office for a misdemeanor warrant out of Humboldt County. Powell was cited out and released from the Trinity County Jail the night of January 6, 2012.
Background on January 9 shooting:
On January 9, 2012 at 5:58 pm Trinity County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call from Janette Powell stating that she came home to her residence in Ruth, CA to find her husband Jonathon William Powell deceased with gunshot wound(s). There was not any evidence of a break-in, burglary or robbery at the scene.
