Missing local women's body found on bank of Eel River

On Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, around noon, Sheriff's Deputies found the body of missing local women, Jamie Ritchey, on the bank of the Eel River between Garberville and Redway. After an extensive search, Humboldt County Sheriff Sgt. Wayne Hanson and another detective located Ritchey's body in some brush at the base of a bluff near the intersection of Redwood Drive and Evergreen Drive.
 
The Humboldt County Coroner's Office identified the body and notified the next of kin.  An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
