Suspect arrested in Trinity County murder case - Update: 2 more suspects arrested

According to a Trinity County Sheriff’s Office press release, dated Oct. 5, 2012:
On October 5, 2012, Trinity County Sheriff’s Office along with Shasta County Sheriff’s Office and Redding Police Department served two search warrants related to the murder of Dean Compton that occurred on October 1, 2012 in Hyampom, CA. The search warrants were served at Riley Wilson’s residence in Shasta Lake, CA and Shawn Bradley’s residence in Redding, CA. Both suspects were interviewed by Investigators and made admissions as to their involvement.

The investigation is ongoing and further details will be released at a later time.

According to a press release from the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, dated Oct. 4, 2012:
On October 1, 2012 at approximately 7:30 pm the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call that there was a reported shooting at the Dean Compton residence in Hyampom. Upon the Deputies arrival the victim, Dean Compton was found deceased in the roadway leading to the residence.

According to witness statements, Dean Compton and his wife Maria Compton were in two separate vehicles driving to their residence. When they got to the front gate of their residence Dean Compton left his vehicle to open the gate. While Dean was walking back to his vehicle Maria heard yelling and noticed a subject with Dean Compton. Shortly after hearing and seeing the subject with Dean, Maria heard gunshots and drove off in her vehicle. As Maria drove away she heard rounds hitting her vehicle. Maria drove to a neighbor’s house where the 911 call was placed.

On October 2, 2012, Trinity County Sheriff’s Office along with Redding Police Department and Shasta County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at the house of Brandon Trammel in Redding, CA. Trammel was questioned by Investigators and has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing and further details will be released at a later time.
