DATE/TIME RECEIVED: 12/27/2007 1400 hrs.
CASE NUMBER: 200707171
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is investigating the disappearance of an adult male last seen on November 16, 2007. Gary Lee Rogers, age 37, was last seen by his girlfriend at the Hansen Truck Shop in Alton. The girlfriend, Katherine Gonze reported that she and Rogers had stopped at the truck shop at about 2:45 p.m. to use the rest stop facilities. She went into restrooms, leaving Rogers with the vehicle. When Gonze returned to the vehicle, she found Rogers and the keys to the vehicle missing. All of Rogers belongings were left in the vehicle.
Investigators have learned that Rogers has been transient in the Humboldt County area for the past year and frequently camped along the river bar near Fortuna/Ferndale. Rogers is considered an "at risk missing person" as it is out of character for him to be missing for this length of time.
Gary Lee Rogers is described as follows:
White male adult, 37 years old, 5"11" tall, 200 lbs.
Blond hair, Hazel eyes. Rogers is missing three top front teeth.
