Anyone alive here? - 2008/01/16 03:46 What is it with all these old messages? Nobody wants to post here?

Re:Anyone alive here? - 2008/01/31 17:10 I'm alive, but I'm not here. I'm across the state among the philistines. I can't even listen to the MUD on the internet because my dailup is so slow and there is no hsi here.
But, I, too, wonder where everyone is? I would have thought that the community of the MUD would gather on the internet, too. I looked at the luau page and there are so many, (or so few)grey heads it looks like a VFW convention. I hope the MUD is doing better than this on the ground; I've been away from the northcoast for nearly two years. I'm a long time (1990)KMUD supporter/troublemaker, and I hope the MUD is still vital.

Re:Anyone alive here? - 2008/02/02 04:44 I wonder how well people know about the KMUD forum? Of course, we are all in midwinter here and distracted by many issues.
But...yeah, I'm alive. And typing from beautiful downtown Redway. And I think the MUD is also doing just fine.

Re:Anyone alive here? - 2008/02/07 17:15 I'm happy to hear the MUD is doing well. Perhaps if I were living where I could be connected to the MUD through my ears, I wouldn't have come to this forum, either.

Distracted by winter? I have six feet of snow!

I miss the coast, beautiful downtown redway, and especially, KMUD. You have no idea what a contrived and artificial culture there is out here. I had no idea how much KMUD connected me with things and people that are organic, earthy and green.

Still, I'm a sociologist, and I can't help but analyze social entities, and I realize organizations have a tendency to resist cultural change, and I worry and have always worried about the MUD becoming timebound and irrelevant to the young. As our Roots teachers have shown us, the key is to bring youths and their culture in, and influence how they interpret that emerging culture.

Since I am in no position to help the MUD, I'll hold my concerns and just wish everyone well, and the MUD a long, useful life.

Re:Anyone alive here? - 2008/03/17 07:53 Hey- we're making progress, there you are. We're experimenting with names. It seemed not too many people related to the 'Forum'.

So, take it on a step further and start an interesting thread here................
