DESCRIPTION:For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                          Jack Surmani  jsurmani@humboldt1.com      Find out more about Youth Participatory Action Research, another avenue of Civic Engagement. Young people are invited to attend a free workshop “Mentorship in Community Research For Young People” on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026 at the Two Street Art Lab, 527 2nd St. from 3:30 – 5:00 PM in Eureka.  Then on Thursday, July 16th, 2026, adults are invited to attend the free workshop, “Mentoring Young People in Community Research”, a  from 12:00 – 1:30 PM at the Cal Poly Humboldt Library, 2nd Floor Fishbowl.  Experience how Young People conduct research on important issues impacting them and their community. Learn the Craft of Research using the Objects of Study. Share quantitative and qualitative analysis before reporting back to your community.  Basic agreements establish confidentiality, safety and respect. The goal is to mentor Young People in identifying their own issues that need further research in a Collaborative and Convivial Process. The workshops are being hosted by Youth Inquiry in Action, a DreamMaker Program of the Ink People Center for the Arts.  For more information email youthinquiry@inkpeople.org\n
