Community Safety and Awareness Report for Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

•CAL FIRE personnel have begun defensible space inspections of residential properties throughout Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.  CAL FIRE is reminding homeowners to protect their property with defensible space as required by state law by removing dead vegetation 100 feet from all structures.  Remember, defensible space is YOUR responsibility.  For more information, visit the CAL FIRE web site at: fire.ca.gov.

•KMUD will host a Yard Sale from 9am to 6pm at 1506 Spyrock Road north of Laytonville, this Sunday, May 29th.  There will be shelves, kitchen items, tools, collectibles, and more.  All proceeds will go to KMUD.  We would like to thank Marion Maples-Bouck for the amazing gift she has left the station.

•The KMUD Business Offices will be closed next Monday, May 30th, in observance of Memorial Day.  The Business Office will re-open at 9am on Tuesday, May 31st.

•And, tune in tonight at 7pm for Homegrown Tomatoes.  That’s tonight at 7pm, right here, on KMUD.

This concludes the Community Safety and Awareness Report, which can be read online at kmud.org and heard weekdays at 11am, 3 pm, and as needed here, on KMUD.
