Community Safety and Awareness Report for Thursday, May 26th, 2011

•CAL FIRE personnel have begun defensible space inspections of residential properties throughout Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.  CAL FIRE is reminding homeowners to protect their property with defensible space as required by state law by removing dead vegetation 100 feet from all structures.  Remember, defensible space is YOUR responsibility.  For more information, visit the CAL FIRE web site at: fire.ca.gov.

•This Sunday, KMUD will host an Estate Sale from 9am to 6pm at 1506 Spyrock, ½ mile up Spyrock Road, north of Laytonville.  There will be shelves, kitchen items, tools, collectibles, and more.  All proceeds will go to KMUD.  We would like to thank Marion Mapes-Bouck for the amazing gift she has left the station.  Again, the Estate Sale will be held this Sunday, May 29th.

•The KMUD Business Offices will be closed next Monday, May 30th, in observance of Memorial Day.  The Business Office will re-open at 9am on Tuesday, May 31st.

•And, tune in tonight at 7pm for The Rights Organization.  That’s tonight at 7pm, right here, on KMUD.

This concludes the Community Safety and Awareness Report, which can be read online at kmud.org and heard weekdays at 11am, 3 pm, and as needed here, on KMUD.
