Community Safety and Awareness Report for Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

•Humboldt County Health and Human Services Mobile Outreach Program will be at the Redway First Baptist Church at 553 Redway Drive, across from KMUD today, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  They will be offering county services such as applications for CalFresh Food Stamps and MediCal, as well as providing referrals for Mental Health services and Mental Health case management support.  Families with children check out their car seat program.  For more information, call 441-4650.

The Redway Community Services District is having trouble meeting its demand.  They are asking Redway water users to please start conserving now.

•Tune in tonight at 7pm for The Environment Show with David Booth.  That’s tonight from 7 to 8pm, right here, on KMUD.

•And, the KMUD Board will welcome three future Board members on the KMUD Board Talk Show, Wednesday, July 13th.  Members’ Representative Jama Chaplin will host the show, along with any other current or future Board members who wish to participate.  KMUD is happy to announce that Siena Klein, Nella White, and Jordan Jumpshot will be seated on our Board of Directors on August 23rd.  Any KMUD member who is interested in being considered for appointment to the Board should email [email protected] by August 16th.  The talk show on Wednesday, July 13th, at 7 pm is a great time for everyone to share your ideas about how KMUD can serve our community even better.
