Community Safety and Awareness Report for Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

•Today, the Humboldt County Health and Human Services mobile outreach program will be providing county services such as MediCal, CalFresh Food Stamps, Public Health and more between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on Redway Drive, across the street from KMUD.

The Redway Community Services District appreciates the community’s ongoing water conservation efforts.  Construction on the Infiltration Gallery is underway.

•Tune in tonight from 7 to 8pm for The Environment Show with David Booth.  That’s tonight at 7pm, right here, on KMUD.

•And, listeners are invited to tune in to Redwood Community Radio,  this Wednesday evening, August 10th, from 7 to 8pm for a special program focusing on  nuclear power.  Hear updates concerning the on-going nuclear disaster in Japan, as well as more information about what’s happening here in California and through out the Country with our aging nuclear power plants and stockpiles of radioactive waste.   The program will be hosted by Robie Tenorio and Bonnie Blackberry.  Listen in, be informed, join the conversation and share information.
