Community Safety and Awareness Report for Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

•Caltrans announced today that environmental surveys will be performed today at the Klamath River Bridge on Route 101 in Del Norte County.  One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6:30AM to 7:30PM.  Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.  For the most current road information on all State highways, call 1-800-GAS-ROAD.

•The next meeting of the Redwood Community Radio Board of Directors will be held Tuesday, September 27th at 4 pm at the Senior Center in Redway.

•PG&E has announced that a new date has been selected for the Garberville planned outage.  The outage will now take place this Sunday, September 25th, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.  They will be taking steps to improve and upgrade the electric system in the area before storm season, including replacing nine poles and fixing more than 2,500 feet of power lines. The outage will affect approximately 2,700 customers. Anyone affected will be notified by mail.
