Community Safety and Awareness Report for Friday, September 9th, 2011
•On September 12th to the 14th, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office will be testing the Reverse 911 system countywide. If you receive one of these test calls please DO NOT call the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Office personnel will be making phones calls to various community members to make sure the test worked.
•The Humboldt County Health and Human Services mobile outreach program will return to the Redway First Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 13th, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Staff will be on hand to help with MediCal and CalFresh Food Stamps program applications, make a referral for mental health services, provide a car seat if a parent needs one for their child. •PG&E has announced that a new date has been selected for the Garberville planned outage. The outage will now take place Sunday, September 25th, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will be taking steps to improve and upgrade the electric system in the area before storm season, including replacing nine poles and fixing more than 2,500 feet of power lines. The outage will affect approximately 2,700 customers. Anyone affected will be notified by mail.
