Everyday English as a Second Language – online classes

Humboldt Literacy Project announces the next session of “Everyday English,” a series of live, Zoom-based education and entertainment for people who are learning English as a second language, Wednesday April 13, at 7 p.m.
Led by North Coast Music Together’s Jose Quezada and Heather Shelton, and developed with Humboldt Literacy Project, each week’s session will focus on a different topic for essential English usage, including going to the store, talking to the doctor, applying for a job, and using public transportation. Themes will be announced in advance, on HLP’s Facebook page. The Zoom meeting ID number is 852 4145 5088.
“Jose and Heather have been leading some great, energetic ‘literacy parties’ for our Family Literacy program since last year,” said Executive Director Emma Breacain. “We’re really excited to see them bring the same sense of humor and music and play to helping adults develop their skills.”
Since 1981, Humboldt Literacy Project has connected adults who want help with their reading and writing with volunteer tutors for free, confidential, one-on-one English language studies.
