Gualala Downtown Streetscape Enhancement Project
Caltrans and Mendocino Council of Governments (MCOG) invite you to attend an online virtual public meeting for the Gualala Downtown Streetscape Enhancement project on January 14, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. The project team has taken previous comments about the project from the public and is working on a new project alternative for community consideration. A public online survey to gather input and comments about the new project alternative will be available.
The current design of State Route 1 through downtown Gualala has several deficiencies that could increase conflicts between cyclists, pedestrians, and motorized users. The purpose of the proposed project is to create safe, comfortable facilities for pedestrian and bicycle travel, and to improve traffic flow in the project area. The project is also intended to improve Gualala’s visual character by incorporating landscape and hardscape features.
A preview of the virtual public meeting presentation will be available mid-December on the Caltrans District 1’s YouTube channel along with early access to the project’s online survey.
The access information details for the January 14 online public meeting will be available on the Gualala Downtown project website at dot.ca.gov/gualaladowntown prior to the meeting date. RSVP is not required to attend the online meeting. The online meeting live stream will also be available on the Caltrans District 1’s YouTube channel. For those without Internet access, please call 707-441-5930 as the meeting date approaches to receive telephone access information. An email address for the project is available at [email protected]
