Save Coast Cinemas – Go Fund Me Campaign

Save Coast Cinemas – GoFundMe Campaign
Untitled design (1)

The historic Coast Cinemas, opened a half century ago in Fort Bragg, California, has been owned and operated by the Lazzarini family for most of those 50 years. Through good times and bad, Coast Cinemas has been a strong supporter of our local community by providing jobs for our youth, gift cards to schools and nonprofits, and theater space for the Mendocino Film Festival. In March of 2020, COVID forced the closure of the theater. Over the past 12 months, our beloved theater has lost 90% of its pre-COVID revenues.

Please join our GoFundMe effort to raise $25,000 and help us “Save The Last Picture Show”. Whether you are a full-time resident of the coast, a part-time resident or an occasional visitor, we hope that you will help us save one of the last places for family entertainment left on the coast. All donations go directly to Coast Cinemas and will be used to enhance air quality within the theater and address the mechanical repairs necessary to re-open.

Thank you to all the donors who have supported this campaign so far, we’re almost there!

Thank you to the Fall Fund Drive Donors!

Thank you to all of our generous donors who supported the Fall Fund Drive. With your help, and grants from the Community Foundation of Mendocino, MFF recently purchased an outdoor screening cinema system and we can’t wait to plan our first event! We’ll keep an eye on local health regulations and bring our community an outdoor film when it’s safe (and warm enough!) to do so.
The 15th Annual Mendocino Film Festival has been postponed to June 2-5, 2022. The festival board and team are dedicated to presenting a full festival weekend on the beautiful Mendocino Coast, filled with in-person events, filmmaker panels, Q&A’s, and screenings of engaging, quality independent films from around the world.

The Mendocino Film Festival is still accepting donations to support will help MFF adapt to COVID-safe programming, including an outdoor screenings series in the summer of 2021. Give $100 or more and receive a tote bag as a token of our appreciation, proudly sponsored by Mendo Sotheby’s International Realty
