Stranded Marine Mammal Volunteer Training

Do you enjoy walking Shelter Cove’s beaches and want to contribute to the conservation of marine mammals? Join Dr. Dawn Goley, Director of CalPoly Humboldt’s Stranded Marine Mammal Monitoring Program, for a volunteer training on Saturday, April 29 from 10a.m. to 2p.m. at the Shelter Cove Community Clubhouse, 1555 Upper Pacific Dr. The training will include a classroom portion and a beach walk where data will be collected on a stranded marine mammal. Volunteers are wanted for the Shelter Cove stranding team. Travel reimbursements are available, as is a Shelter Cove Community Coordinator stipend.  For info, email Dawn Goley ([email protected]).
