Will Karmis / Paulastretch / Hudson Glover
|Two experimental musicians and sound artists from the east coast will be passing through our hall as part of a 40 date tour that will take them all over the U.S. Their music is a fascinating eddy of tones, brittle and beautiful, and we’re looking forward to an evening of entrancing sounds. Opening the set is Hudson Glover, local electronic musician whose over 20 album repertoire includes analog synths, ambient tape loops, pop music, and everything else in between.
Will Karmis is a musical improviser, guitarist and songwriter. Weaving together the expressions of drone poetry and song, their music exists between states of untethered ambient improvisation and reflective folk. Cycles, lines of desire, and streamed consciousness are threaded throughout Will’s work.
On tour to support their new release “Shellbody,” Paulastretch composes lush, ambience zones from the dungeon of circuit bent tape players and lo-fi samplers. Echoing samples form percussive dots connected by decaying drone swells.
