Future Humboldt County Sheriff: CLMP reports no big deal

A recent news story on the California Report and on NPR’s Morning Edition talked about KMUD and the CLMP (Civil Liberties Monitoring Project) reports broadcast on this radio station. Listeners to the story may get the impression that all local law enforcement would like KMUD to stop airing these citizens observations.

At an April 14, 2010 forum by the League of Women Voters, the two candidates for Sheriff of Humboldt County were asked about their stand on these reports. Here is an excerpt from that forum, with the question and answer. Neither candidate seemed to think the reports present much of a problem.
