Garberville planned outage July 28 cancelled

The following information was sent, on July 15, 2011, to KMUD News from Brandi Ehlers, Media Relations Representative for Pacific Gas and Electric Company:
Due to community concern, we have cancelled the planned outage for the Garberville area scheduled for Thursday, July 28.  At PG&E, safety and reliability are top priorities, and we are taking steps to improve and upgrade the electric system in the area.  Therefore, this work will need to be rescheduled and is extremely important to improve reliability, reduce outage restoration times, and improve the quality of your service, especially ahead of storm season. We are currently working on a new date and time to try and meet the needs of our customers in the area.  Once this important work is rescheduled, we will work to notify those who will be affected.  We would like to thank our customers in the area who voiced their concerns and want to assure them they have been heard.  We understand that even a planned outage can be disruptive and inconvenient, and we are committed to informing our customers of any future planned service interruptions with as much advance notice as possible. We will do our very best the keep disruptions to a minimum.
