Man arrested in Eureka for multiple offenses

According to a press release from the Eureka Police Department, dated 9/20/11:
On September 19, 2011 at approximately 6:00 pm, a Eureka Police Department Officer was on patrol in the area of Wabash and B Street in Eureka and saw a known wanted subject walking westbound on Wabash. Before the officer could stop and detain the subject, Eric Gibson, fled North bound across the roadway and into a residential neighborhood. 
 
Additional officers responded and assisted with establishing a perimeter while awaiting the arrival of an EPD K9 team. The EPD K9 team arrived and began tracking GIBSON and subsequently located him hiding on Church Street between A and B Streets.Gibson refused to comply with officer’s commands and K9 “Jimi” was used to apprehend Gibson.  After a short struggle with K9 ‘Jimi” and officers on-scene, Gibson was taken into custody. Gibson was treated and released from St. Joseph’s Hospital for minor injuries sustained during the apprehension.
 
Gibson was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:
PC 211-Armed Robbery
PC 243(d)-Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury
PC 182-Conspiracy
PC 148(a)(1)-Resisting Arrest
PC 3056-Parole Violation
As well as two local arrest warrants
