Reward offered for Murder Suspect Aaron Bassler

According to a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, dated September 13, 2011:

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted by private citizens as well as the U.S. Marshals’ Service and the Mendocino Land Trust, providing reward funds for information leading to the capture and arrest of Aaron Bassler. The reward amount is at $30,000 at the time of this press release.
 
Aaron Bassler is the lead suspect in the homicides of Matthew Coleman and Jere Melo. Residents of the Fort Bragg and surrounding areas should remain vigilant and conscientious of their surroundings as suspect Bassler is considered armed and dangerous and thought to have remained in the area. Suspect Bassler should not be approached. Law enforcement is looking for information, not active participation in the search.
