NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT
Tuesday, August 19th, 2025
SYNOPSIS: A gradual warming and drying trend will continue and intensifies late this week with inland temperatures warming to above 100 into the weekend. This will create fire weather concerns and a Moderate to Major HeatRisk.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 65. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Clear, with a low around 52. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 52. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Cloud cover along the coast should be less of an issue overnight, and Tuesday will bring mild weather as a warming trend begins. A small weather disturbance may slightly slow the warmup on Wednesday, but hot temperatures are expected to build by late week, with highs over 100°F likely in interior valleys, especially Friday. This heat will bring moderate to major heat risks through the weekend, with very warm nights offering little relief. Some monsoonal moisture could drift in late Friday, but it’s unlikely to bring rain—raising concerns for fire weather due to dry conditions.
