The South Fork Cubs softball team has claimed the Little 4 League title for the first time in over 20 years—winning their first championship since 1990, when current head coach Lisa Todd was a freshman on the team.
The Cubs have secured the top seed heading into the HDNL postseason tournament. Made up primarily of freshmen and juniors, the team has experienced a remarkable turnaround after not fielding a team just two seasons ago. Much of that success is credited to Coach Todd, who came out of retirement to help rebuild the program.
Players say the victory is a major boost for the rural South Fork community and hope the public will continue showing strong support as they head into the playoffs.
