We are offering a 2-day Volunteer Training and Caregiver Skills Workshop, being held on Friday, October 17th from 5:30-8:30pm and Saturday, October 18th from 10am-4pm at the HRCH Meeting Room, 464 Maple Lane, Garberville. This workshop is for community members interested in becoming HRCH Patient Volunteers, but will be opened up to any local caregivers if space allows.
Participants will learn how our non-medicare hospice operates and the integral role our volunteers play in supporting our clients’ “circle of care”, as well as the important aspects of patient confidentiality, boundaries, compassionate care, and end of life issues. The workshop will conclude with demonstrations and hands on practice of practical skills covering hygiene, body mechanics, transfers, and the use of standard equipment.
