SYNOPSIS: Cool and moist conditions will persist across the area through Wednesday with slight warming and drying into the weekend. Another rain event is most likely around Sunday.

TODAY: 

Inland: Areas of fog before 11am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. West southwest wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Light and variable wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. 

Extended Forecast: Patchy valley fog is likely to form tonight under mostly clear skies, helped by higher humidity levels. Temperatures will stay cool, but most valleys shouldn’t see frost except possibly around Ruth Lake and Hayfork. By Friday, interior valleys are expected to warm into the 70s and low 80s, while coastal areas stay cooler near the upper 60s due to ocean influence. Winds will remain light through the week. Another system may arrive late Sunday into Monday, bringing light to moderate rain along the North Coast, with the possibility of stronger southerly gusts up to about 40 mph if the storm strengthens.
