SYNOPSIS: Sneaker wave and large surf risk continues through

the week. Confidence remains high for an atmospheric river storm

impacting Northern California Friday into the weekend. Additional

rainfall is forecast to continue through Sunday and into Monday.

TODAY: 

Inland: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind

Along the Coast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph after midnight.

Extended Forecast: A large, powerful storm system will bring heavy rain and strong winds to Northern California from Friday through Sunday. The highest elevations could see wind gusts of 50-60 mph and receive 4-6 inches of rain in some areas, which may cause flooding in streams, rivers, and urban areas. Snow is expected in the mountains above 4,500-7,000 feet, potentially affecting mountain passes. Additional storm systems will follow into early next week, bringing more rain with limited breaks between weather events.
