SYNOPSIS: High pressure is building into the area bringing dry

weather and this is expected to persist through much of the work

week. Chilly nights and generally sunny afternoons are expected

each day. A few clouds and showers are possible in Del Norte

county Wednesday morning. The next chance for possible widespread

rain is next weekend.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 61. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Light and variable wind

Along the Coast: Rain. Low around 58. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Extended Forecast: A high-pressure system is bringing clearer weather after recent rain, but there’s a risk of frost overnight in coastal and inland areas as temperatures drop into the 30s. Tuesday will be warmer and sunny, reaching the upper 60s and 70s inland, before a weather front passes to the north on Wednesday bringing some light rain to the northernmost areas. Clear, cold weather returns Thursday with another chance of frost in valleys overnight. This weekend, there’s a good chance of more widespread rain returning, especially in northern areas, with some possibility of a strong storm system, though exactly how far south the rain will reach is uncertain.
