SYNOPSIS: High pressure is building in to the area, bringing dry

weather for much of the week. Potential for freezing temperatures

in Trinity County tonight. Drizzle possible for the coastal areas

Wednesday. Slight chance for rain this weekend.

TODAY: 

Inland: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Light and variable wind.

Along the Coast: Mostly clear, with a low around 56. North wind 7 to 9 mph.

Extended Forecast: After a rainy weekend, high pressure is moving in and bringing mostly clear skies, though tonight could be quite cold in inland valleys with temperatures dropping to the high 20s and low 30s, so people should protect any frost-sensitive plants. Today will warm up nicely with temperatures reaching the 70s and possibly near 80 degrees in some valley areas. A weak weather system passing to the north on Wednesday might bring some light drizzle to the northernmost coast but will mostly just add some high clouds, while inland areas stay warm. Looking ahead to the weekend and early November, there’s growing uncertainty but increasing chances for rain to return, especially along the northern coast.
