- Warm afternoon with temperatures approaching daily records on North Coast, followed by chilly overnight lows in the 20s-30s in valleys
- High pressure pattern ends Friday-Saturday; cooler temperatures expected with increased cloud cover and deeper marine layer across Northwest California
- Rain returns Saturday night through Tuesday with generally light amounts, though some areas (especially higher elevations in Humboldt, Trinity, Del Norte) have 40-80% chance of over 1 inch;
- Much colder temperatures ahead with increased rainfall and mountain snow next week (snow levels dropping to ~4,000 ft Monday); uncertainty remains on whether precipitation will be continuous or intermittent
- Beach Hazards Statement in effect from 07:00 PM tonight until Friday at 10:00 PM Increased threat of sneaker waves expected for Coastal Del Norte, Northern Humboldt Coast,Southwestern Humboldt and Mendocino Coast Counties. Large, unexpected waves can sweep across the beach without warning, sweeping people into the sea from rocks, jetties, and beaches. These sneaker waves can also move large objects such as logs, crushing anyone caught underneath. Avoid rocks and jetties. Avoid steep beaches. Stay much farther back from the water and never turn your back on the ocean.
