This summer a group of indigenous youth will ride the Klamath River from source to see, the first event of its kind in over 100 years, now possible because of the removal of four dams on the river. “The First Decent” is a 30 day, 400 mile trek; a celebration of the freeing of the Klamath.
KMUD spoke to Amada Lang from Rios to Rivers about this historical event, the dam removals and what comes next for the local, indigenous paddle clubs.
