NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT
Tuesday, October 14th, 2025
SYNOPSIS: The area of low pressure continues to push southward pulling the precipitation towards the southern area of the CWA. There will be chances for interior frost this week, especially if cloud coverage clears with calm winds. Temperatures will warm later this week as high pressure builds back in.
TODAY:
Inland: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 61. Calm wind becoming west northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 44. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Mostly clear, with a low around 48. Light and variable wind becoming south around 6 mph.
Extended Forecast: A cutoff low-pressure system is moving south over Northern California, keeping light rain and showers in Mendocino, Lake, and Trinity counties through Tuesday morning. There could be a couple of brief thunderstorms in the higher, eastern mountains, but most areas will just see rain showers. Overnight, temperatures will stay cooler this week, though widespread frost isn’t likely right now due to lingering unsettled weather. By midweek and into the weekend, high pressure will build in, bringing sunnier skies and warmer temperatures—interior valleys could reach 80°F. More rain is possible later in the weekend as another system may move in. Coastal areas will clear out first, while inland valleys stay cloudier a bit longer, and airports in the region should generally have good flying weather, except occasional low clouds inland Tuesday morning.
