SYNOPSIS: Early this morning, patchy fog and low clouds are expected to continue. A strong front is bringing rain and strong winds this afternoon through Thursday morning. Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected Thursday with drier weather expected Friday and Saturday. The next system is expected Sunday and Monday.
TODAY:
Inland: Wind Advisory beginning at 1pm through 6am tomorrow
Rain likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. South southeast wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Along the Coast: Rain likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. South southeast wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 54. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Along the Coast: Wind Advisory beginning at 6pm through 6am tomorrow.
Rain. Low around 55. Windy, with a south wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Extended Forecast: A strong Pacific storm will move into Northwest California late Wednesday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds overnight into Thursday morning. Winds could reach 40 to 50 mph, especially along ridges and the coast, with the Mendocino Coast expecting the strongest gusts. One to three inches of rain are likely, mainly in Mendocino County and the King Range, while snow will stay above 5,000 feet. Thunderstorms may occur Thursday, though severe weather is not expected. Conditions should dry out Friday and Saturday before another, weaker system approaches Sunday.
