NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

SYNOPSIS: Above normal temperatures and dry conditions will persist through Tuesday with overnight valley and coastal fog. Wet and unsettled weather conditions will impact the area starting mid to late in the day on Wednesday. This will bring heavy rain and wind Wednesday night. Thursday, snow levels are expected to drop as low as 4,000 feet with potential additional precipitation.

TODAY: 

Inland: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Cloudy, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. 

TONIGHT:  

Inland: A slight chance of rain between 10pm and 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 52. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 10pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 52. Light and variable wind.

Extended Forecast: High pressure will hold over northwest California through Tuesday, keeping things mostly dry and mild, though with some patchy morning fog inland. A strong storm will move in late Wednesday, bringing rain, gusty winds up to 50 mph, and heavier rain overnight into Thursday. One to three inches of rain could cause minor flooding in low areas or small streams. As colder air moves in Thursday, snow levels may fall to about 4,000 feet, with light snow possible on higher mountain passes. The storm will taper off Friday, followed by calmer and drier weather into Saturday before another weaker system arrives late in the weekend.
