SYNOPSIS: Breezy winds will continue to ease into early Tuesday

for Lake County. Frost will be possible Wednesday morning for the

interior. Additional rain is possible late Wednesday into

Thursday.

TODAY:  

Inland: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 57. North northwest wind 8 to 10 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 40. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. North wind 6 to 10 mph. 

Extended Forecast: A brief period of dry and cooler weather is expected from Tuesday into Wednesday across interior Northern California, with chilly nighttime lows but little risk of frost due to lingering moisture and occasional valley fog. An approaching system late Wednesday evening will bring gusty south winds and a round of moderate to locally heavy rain, especially north of Cape Mendocino and in higher terrain, with forecast rainfall amounts ranging from 0.5 to 1.25 inches and locally higher totals possible. Snow levels will drop to 5,000–5,500 ft Wednesday night, but snow accumulation is likely to remain light and localized, mainly at higher passes. Another dry stretch is likely Friday through the weekend, with cold overnight temperatures possibly leading to frost if skies clear, followed by a chance of additional wet weather early next week.
