KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org/, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services. 

Today,  Wednesday, November 19, 2025 is a Permissive Burn day. 

Burn permits are required for ALL open burning. Burn hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Burn piles are limited to 4’ x 4’, unless otherwise stated by a fire agency. You can only burn vegetative matter.

Northbound & Southbound 254 is fully closed from Hodges Rd to Fish Creek Rd due to emergency work. There is no estimated time for reopening of closure.

In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions at the Trinidad City Hall, 409 Trinity St, Trinidad, from 10:30 until noon; McKinleyville from 10 until 3pm; Eureka from 10 until 3:45pm; Arcata  from 4 until 6pm; Fortuna from 10 until noon;  Garberville from 2 until 4pm.

The Food for People Mobile Pantry is hosting a food distribution at Dream Quest Youth Center, 100 Country Club Dr, Willow Creek from 10 until noon.

The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at Safeway in Fortuna from 1 until 6pm. And as always, the Northern California Community Blood Bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net

In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting food distributions in Ukiah from noon until 4pm; Fort Bragg from 10 until 3:45pm;  Willits from 1 until 4:30pm; and in Westport, 37551 N. Shoreline Hwy, from 6 to 8pm. 

Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon.

Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.

The KMUD Board of Directors will meet today, Wednesday, September 17th, at 5:30pm, via Zoom. You can help to keep our community trash-free by joining the Eel River Clean-up Project tomorrow, and every Thursday. Join ERCP tomorrow at 9:30am at the Garberville Vet’s Park, across from Dazey’s, to help keep Southern Humboldt roadsides trash free.
