SYNOPSIS: A quick moving front will bring moderate rainfall and
breezy southerly winds Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Drier
and cooler conditions bring chances for interior frost into the
end of the week while daytime highs warm Friday and through the
weekend.

Inland: A 30 percent chance of rain after 4pm. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
Along the Coast: Rain likely after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. South southeast wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Extended Forecast: A strong front will bring moderate to heavy rain to Humboldt and Del Norte counties Wednesday, with the highest amounts (over 0.75 inches in 24 hours) expected from southern Humboldt northward; some areas may experience intense rainfall rates up to 0.3 inches per hour and gusty winds reaching 30–40 mph, especially along the coast and on exposed ridges. Rain will taper off late Wednesday night, leaving only a few lingering showers by Thursday. Friday through the weekend will be mostly dry and warmer as high pressure returns, but clear nights could produce widespread frost in inland valleys if cloud cover is limited. Another weather system may approach early next week, but most forecasts keep heavier rain north of the area, with only light rain possible in far northwest counties.
