SYNOPSIS:

  • Strong southerly winds, periods of moderate to heavy rain, and embedded thunderstorms expected through Thursday.
  •  Gusty winds, showers and isolated thunderstorms with locally heavy rain expected on Friday.
  •  Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday evening for Humboldt, Trinity, Mendocino and Lake counties.
  • Winter Storm Warning for elevations above 4000 ft through Friday evening for Trinity County.
  •  Hazardous marine and coastal conditions expected through Thursday.
  • High Wind Watch in effect until December 25th, 02:00 PM 
  • FLOOD WATCH UNTIL FRIDAY DECEMBER 26TH, 10PM, throughout Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, Mendocino, and Lake Counties. Take caution. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
