Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services.
Here is the latest road flooding and closure information from CalTrans:
The following roads are flooded:
- Howard Heights
- Cannibal Island Rd .10 mile from Eel River to end of road
- Graham Rd
- Zanes Rd
- Berta Rd
- Old Arcata Rd between Graham Rd and Jacoby Creek Rd
- Eel River @ Hookton – road is muddy and slippery
- Ambrosini Lane
- Rose Ave
- Fernbridge Dr Northbound Lane
The following roads are closed:
- Port Kenyon is closed between Market and California
- Hookton Rd is closed between Tompkins Hill Rd and Highway 101 due to the flooding.
- Mad River Rd is closed at P.M. 2.75 (Tye City) due to flooding
- Goble between Fulmor and Hwy 211
- Camp Weott at Dillon
- Fulmor from Goble to the end
- Glendale Drive – 100 feet northwest of Liscom Hill Rd closed due to flooding
- Redwood Dr from Evergreen Rd to Bear Canyon Rd closed due to a slide
- Fernbridge Dr Northbound Lane closed to the bridge due to flooding
- Coffee Creek is closed due to flooding from P.M. 1.00 to 1.25
- Meridian Road closed between P.M. .5 to .9
- Wilder Ridge Rd at P.M. 6.9 closed due to flooding
- Crannell Rd is closed at Dows Prairie Rd due to flooding
- Waddington Rd from Pleasant Point Rd to Substation Rd
- Goble Lane from Fulmor to Hwy 211 closed
- Nissen Rd from Goble Lane to the end closed
- Dillon Rd
- Sage Rd from Goble to the end
- Goble between Dillon Rd and Nissen Rd
- The road between Myrtle Avenue and Hall Avenue and at Hubbard and Harris Street is closed. Redwood Acres has staged emergency vehicles for the upcoming windstorms expected. Please avoid the area.
Provided you have a valid Air Quality burn permit, Wednesday, December 24th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Residents in state responsibility areas must also obtain a Cal Fire burn permit. Please refer to your air quality burn permit for approved burn hours and restrictions.
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in McKinleyville from 10 until 3pm; Eureka from 10 until 3:45pm; Arcata from 4 until 6pm; Fortuna from 10 until noon; Petrolia from 11 until noon; Honeydew from 3 until 4pm; and Garberville from 2 until 4pm.
The Food for People mobile pantry will be at the HUPA Shopping Center, 12509 Hoopa, from 10 until noon today.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be hosted by Redwood Capital Bank at their Fortuna and Eureka locations. Their main branch, 402 G St., Eureka, from 10 until 4pm and 1075 S Fortuna Blvd Suite A in Fortuna from 10 until 4pm. And as always, the Northern California Community Blood Bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net.
In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting food distributions in Ukiah from noon until 4pm; Fort Bragg from 10 until 3:45pm; and Willits from 1:30 until 4pm.
Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon.
Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.
