KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org/, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services.
Here are the latest road condition updates:
The following Humboldt County roads are flooded:
- Cannibal Road (Cannibal Island) at the intersection of Cock Robin Island Road and to the beach
The following Humboldt County roads are closed:
- Meridian Road at mile marker .5 to .9
- Coffee Creek Road at mile marker 1.00 to 1.25
- Maple Creek Road 7 miles from Blue Lake
Today, Thursday, January 15th, Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte and Trinity Counties have suspended all burns at this time due to weather conditions.
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions at the Blue Lake Community Resource Center, 111 Greenwood Ave., from 10 until 1pm; McKinleyville from 10 until 3pm; Willow Creek Community Resource Center, 38883 CA-299 from 10 until noon; Ferndale from 1 until 2pm; Loleta from 3 until 5pm; Rio Dell Community Resource Center, 406 Wildwood Ave, from 9 until noon; and Garberville from 10:30 until noon.
The Food for People Mobile Pantry is hosting a food distribution at Orick Elementary School, 120918 US-101,Orick, from noon until 2pm.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be in Eureka at College of the Redwoods and US Bank, 2910 F St, both locations from 10 until 4pm. And as always, the Northern California Community Blood Bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net.
In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting a food distribution in Ukiah from 9 until 2pm.
Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon.
Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.

The KMUD Board of Directors invites everyone to the Annual Meeting of the Members this Sunday, Jan. 18 at 1:00pm. This will be in person at the Healy Center in Redway and also on Zoom. We’ll hear reports, hear from board candidates for election and appointment (two appointments this spring), and hear Open Time comments. The Zoom link will be posted on the website before the meeting. Those attending in person are welcome to bring a snack to share.
