Inland: Mostly cloudy early, then gradual clearing, with a high near 81. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy early, then gradual clearing, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: A 20 percent chance of showers after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind 5 to 8 mph.
Extended Forecast: A weather system will bring cooler temperatures, rain, and gusty winds starting late tonight and continuing through the weekend. Light showers will begin in Del Norte County and gradually spread southward, reaching Mendocino, Trinity, and Lake counties. Periods of steady rainfall are expected on Saturday night through Sunday, with northern areas receiving between half an inch to two inches of rain, while southern areas see lighter amounts. Wind gusts may pick up, and there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms. Early next week, cooler temperatures will settle in, with potential frost and freezing conditions inland by Tuesday and a possibility of light mountain snow.
