Weather & Tide Report – November 4, 2024

SYNOPSIS: Expect a mix of weather today with some light showers or sprinkles possible along the North Coast this afternoon and evening. Morning fog in river valleys will clear quickly after sunrise. Coastal areas may see lower clouds and light rain as a weak front moves through, but conditions should improve by the evening.

TODAY:

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 73. North wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Along the Coast: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 60. Light north wind

TONIGHT:

Inland: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph after midnight.

Along the Coast: A slight chance of showers before 10pm, then isolated sprinkles after 10pm. Patchy fog between 10pm and 4am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. North wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Extended Forecast: After today’s brief chance of showers, dry weather will take over for the rest of the week. On Tuesday, northerly winds will pick up strength, with strong gusts expected in higher areas of southern Lake County by Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, posing a fire risk due to dry conditions and low humidity. Interior valleys could see cold nights with frost or freezing temperatures due to clear skies and calm winds, possibly requiring frost advisories for areas not yet hit by a freeze this season. Toward the end of the week, the winds should weaken, and while there’s a chance of light rain by the weekend, any significant precipitation is uncertain at this point.
