Wiyot Tribe Monitors Flood Risks as King Tides and Storm Surge Threaten Coastal Areas

For the Wiyot Nation, severe weather events like the current King Tides pose unique challenges, as portions of their coastal lands are highly prone to flooding. In past events, rising waters have rendered roads impassable, temporarily cutting off the Tribe’s reservation from the rest of Humboldt County.
