Inland: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 1am and 4am, then rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 4am. Low around 48. Southeast wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: A slight chance of rain before 1am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 1am and 4am, then rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 4am. Low around 49. Windy, with a south southeast wind 13 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Extended Forecast: A strong storm system will arrive tonight into Saturday, bringing heavy rain and gusty southerly winds. Winds could reach 30 mph along the coast and 45-55 mph in higher elevations, with a wind advisory in effect for Humboldt and Del Norte Counties through Saturday morning. Rainfall totals will range from 0.5 to 1.25 inches, with locally higher amounts up to 2 inches in areas like the King Range. Another storm will follow Sunday afternoon, bringing additional rain and gusty winds. Early next week, a more intense atmospheric river could bring 2-4 inches of rain to interior regions, raising the likelihood of rivers like the Eel and Russian reaching minor flood stages by Wednesday. Additional storms later in the week may bring further rain and wind impacts.
