Fort Bragg Police are investigating a disturbing assault after a video surfaced showing individuals throwing a lit explosive device into the tent of unhoused community member.
Fort Bragg Police Chief Neil Cervenka condemned the act, stating, “This wasn’t a joke or a prank. It was an assault with an explosive device. We are committed to protecting all members of our community, especially the most vulnerable.”
On January 1st, the Eureka Police Department had a sobriety checkpoint, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the intersection of 4th and Commercial streets. They reported out that they screened 497 cars, stopped 20 cars, conducted 3 field sobriety tests, issued 7 citations to people driving without a license, or with a suspended license and towed one car to impound.
