SYNOPSIS: Prepare for a cold morning with temperatures feeling near freezing in many places. The day will stay dry, with below-average highs, so dress warmly if you’re heading out.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 64. Light and variable wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Clear, with a low around 36. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Areas of frost after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 35. Calm wind.

Extended Forecast: The next seven days will be mostly dry, though central and southern Lake County could see light rain or snow late Friday night into Saturday morning. Expect chilly mornings and nights, especially today, Wednesday morning, and over the weekend, with temperatures dropping into the 30s and possibly near 20 degrees in interior valleys by Sunday morning. Gusty winds will return Friday through Sunday, peaking along the coast on Friday and spreading to interior areas Saturday and Sunday, where gusts could exceed 45 mph on ridges. Coastal areas may see wind chills in the upper 20s, while interior locations will feel even colder. While rain chances remain low for most areas, be prepared for blustery and frosty conditions throughout the weekend.
