Measure Z applications in Humboldt County for the fiscal year 2025-26 are due today by 5 pm.
Mendocino County residents, the Willits Food Bank offers food distribution from 1-430 pm at 344 Railroad Avenue in Willits. Call 459-3333 for details. The Fort Bragg Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 10 am to 4 pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. Additionally, Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program.
Food for People will be hosting a food distribution at the Eureka Choice Pantry located at 307 W 14th Street from 10 am until 3:45 pm today. A food distribution will take place today in Alderpoint from 1 to 2:30 pm.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office located at 826 4th Street in Eureka from 10 am until 4 pm, and at Safeway, located at 701 S. Fortuna Boulevard in Fortuna from 10 am until 4 pm. And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year-round to avoid receiving a violation.
Today, Friday, February 14th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
