Community Safety & Awareness Report-March 17, 2025

Today, Food For People and the Weitchpec Mobile Produce Pantry will be at the Yurok Tribe Weitchpec Office, 23001 CA-96, in Hoopa, from noon until 2pm. Additionally, the Orleans Produce Pantry at 459 Asip Road in Orleans will be open  from 12 until 2pm. Mendocino County residents, the Fort Bragg Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 10 am until 4 pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. For a hot meal,  residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 111 East Commercial Street in Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Additionally, Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. Tomorrow, the Anderson Valley Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 9am to 11:30am at the United Methodist Church located at 13850 Hwy 128 in Boonville. The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at the Safeway in Crescent City at 475 M Street from 1 until 6pm. The Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department is holding a blood drive from 2 until 7:30pm at 111 First Avenue in Blue Lake. Contact the blood bank for additional information. And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net

Tomorrow, and every Tuesday, between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, warm clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. Get out of the weather every Tuesday, that’s tomorrow, from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year-round to avoid receiving a violation.

Today, Monday,  March 17th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
